Lights All Night

This new years the Lights All Night festival, hosted December 31, 2011 in Dallas, Texas popped of this year to say the very least. The rave was held in the Dallas Convention Center in downtown Dallas itself. There were three different stages including Groove Hall, Bass Hall, and Dance hall. I started my night out at the groove hall, of course after checking out the bass hall, and hit up Savoy for a about a good 15 mins. There was a live violin that was dope. Rarely are there live instruments played mixed with dub. I was feeling my zen tendencies to emerge dancing to arabian/middle eastern music they played. After bobbing and chillin' for a tad bit there, I rolled back over to the bass hall where I spent the rest of my night. But before we move on, Check out one of Savoys Electronica Dubstep House tracks.

Savoy- I'm in Need (Original Mix)

First in line at the base hall was Felix Cartel. His music had a lot of instrumental build ups and few sparatic drops here and there. He was the perfect artist to warm the crowd up, and  to bring the hype up a notch.  Check out his song Love (At Dawn We Rage).

Up next was Porter Robison playing all his most famous tracks and brilliantly mixing high and low drops. Penny herself came and sang All I Ask of You live when he remixed the Skrillex track into his set. His music is more trancey in my opinion but still contains some HARD dubstep.

Porter Robinson - Unison (Knife Party Remix)

This is my favorite Porter Robison BANGER remixed by knife party. IT GOES HARD!!! If you like  that mosh style dub mixed with some uplifting housy sounds. CLICK!

Zeds Dead brought the crowd to another level with the amount of base they dropped. Below is a video of the crowd during the count down. Everyone went INSANE when the new year rolled around and Zeds hyped the crowd to the brink of explosion- literly.

CHECK ITTTTTTTT

After Zeds dead ended their set with the classic Say it Aint So- by Wheezer to chill the crowd out, there was a small rush out of the hall. The true dub l0verz stayed to see CASPA. He gave me the best dub show I've ever raged at, playing that  dirty dirty low dub and eerie sounds that make you give to the music. But what else besides the best could I expect from one of the fathers of Dubstep. He don't give a FUCK he just plays his shit. Caspa is from the UK, where dubstep itself originated. Caspa help bring the whole dubstep movement to America with other producers/Dj's/Band Skream, Benga, Rusko, and Enter Shikari.  "OG" thass what I call him.

Up next was Pendulum, the last artist to play in the hall. Pendulum has such a unique style mixing rock and more intense emotional music with lyrics with some dub, but the louder dub rather than the deeper, and fast paced, high pitched electronic sounds. At this point I was drained of energy, but couldn't help to jump when Pendulum's up beat high energy music was blasting in my face. They also had the brightest lights out of all the DJ sets. I wore my 3D glasses through out the entire set to enhance my light show and get the completed experience. Then towards the end, SURPRISE Kill the Noise tag teamed with Pendulum increasing the intensity of the crowd and music, boldly blending even more genres and beats to create a delicious ear candy, and ending the massive crowd's New Years Night with a Bang.
