My love for dubstep was apparent and growing since I first heard the song In For The Kill (Skream Remix)- La Roux in 2008, back when dubstep was hardly surfacing and people would give you a funny look when you asked them "have you heard of dubstep??" Through my experience, I have understood dubstep at first as more of a background noise complimenting lyrics and creating dynamic levels to the ear/song. It was new, people weren't too familiar with these specific types of electronic sounds. BUT, as dubstep became more popular and started to get out there via youtube, music blogs, sound cloud, people liked what they heard. Producers could see that the response to this type of music was growing, and at a very fast rate. Everything about the dub was being fine tuned. Light bass still remains, but the heavy bass started over powering. The wobbles WERE the song. The noise is what attracted a new type of crowd. Soon, lyrics weren't even necessary (although still used) and people could just use their inner selves to interpreted the frequencies in their unique way. This is why I have so much love for this genre of music. There is nothing concrete about it. It is constantly changing. Every time you hear a song the sound fluctuations bring different emotions.
